William Dodds of the Parish of Stenton and Dorothy Flockart of the Parish of Whittinghame appeared on 14 June 1789 before the Kirk Session of Whittinghame and produced their lines of irregular marriage at Haddington on 29 March 1789. They were rebuked by the Minister and exhorted to live as married persons, thus legitimising the marriage in the eyes of the Established Church. The baptism records give Dorothy's surname as Flucker but the death certificates of her children Margaret and Peter give it as Flockhart.
