There is no certainty in identifying the parents of Andrew and Betty but the names of the frst two sons and the only known daughter fit the 'traditional' Scottish naming pattern, which appears to have been followed by this family through succeeding generations. Betty was still alive at the time of the 1851 Census, when her marital status was Widow.
